Ultraviolet Radiation Test ASTM G155 (USA) – Xenon Arc 2000 Hours | Novatik NATURA

15.11.2023 - Ultraviolet Radiation Test ASTM G155 (USA) – Xenon Arc 2000 Hours | Novatik NATURA

We tested the ultraviolet resistance of the Novatik NATURA stone coated metal roof tiles for 2000 hours at one of the leading construction-material testing laboratories in the United States.

Although real outdoor exposure is the most accurate way to assess ageing in stone coated metal tiles, laboratory tests such as ASTM G155 provide accelerated ageing results in much shorter timeframes.

ASTM G155 describes a method of artificial ageing using a xenon arc lamp to simulate extreme environmental conditions. When performed over 2000 hours, the test focuses on evaluating how materials withstand accelerated ageing over an extended period. During the test, the samples are exposed to ultraviolet radiation at specific wavelengths that simulate sunlight, allowing assessment of how the product resists degradation caused by UV exposure.

Following the ASTM G155 test, the Novatik NATURA samples were evaluated for UV-related degradation, including colour changes or damage to the stone coating, and achieved the maximum score of 10 out of 10.

Through this type of testing, we aim to gather meaningful information about the durability and performance of Novatik NATURA stone coated metal roofing in extreme conditions, supporting our ongoing efforts to improve product quality across various applications.
